Beto Domínguez Ramos runs the independent cultural forum Kinoki in Chiapas, Mexico. Born of the need for a place to watch films and talk about them, Kinoki is not confined to its cinema in San Cristóbal de las Casas: it also runs a mobile cinema that, together with organisations and communities, visits towns, villages and neighbourhoods across the state.
Kinoki's mobile cinema travels from the coast to the mountains, organises participatory film and cinema events, is on site after disasters such as earthquakes or floods, and always seeks to open up ways of building bridges between hostile groups.
